You check in on a tablet when you arrive and are given the door code. In 4 days we never saw a staff person. There is a closet where you can lock luggage before check in or at check out. The room was large with a dining area, small kitchen and sofa that doubles as a bed. Our son didn’t think the sofa were very comfortable but he slept fine. The twin beds in the bedroom were firm but comfortable. The bathroom was Japanese style with a wet room to shower before getting in the soaker tub. Laundry unit with soap provided was appreciated. The location is excellent with a subway station and combini very close as well as many good restaurants. Less than 10 minute walk to the river and a lot of shops, restaurants and nightlife. Very easy to get around from this location by bus/subway/walking. This was a great set up for a family with 2 sofa beds and a separate bedroom.

Location is brilliant. 3-4 minute walk to the train station. But if you are comfortable walking, in one direction it is a 20 minute walk to all the shopping arcades and a 20 minute walk in the other direction to the beautiful older areas of Kyoto. Restaurants are everywhere - just walk down almost any side street - convenience stores are a few doors down too. The room is large by Japan's standards - and was very comfortable for a family of 4 with luggage. I was a little concerned about the hotel being unmanned. But the check in process is seamless, we used the luggage storage easily when we arrived early and wanted to go out and sight see. I requested additional towels through the online request form, 20 minutes later the towels were delivered promptly to our door. The hotel and room is clean, modern and very comfortable. The teens slept on the roll out futons and raved at how comfortable they were.

The area is very close to the tourist part--about a 10 minute walk across the bridge. There are plenty of choices to eat nearby and also across the bridge. There is a Family Mart Convenient store is a 5 walk on the same side of the street. There's a really good health coffee/tea shop 3 mins walk on the same side of the street. The subway station is a 3 min flat walk but the entrance closest to the hotel does not have elevators. So if you need an elevator, use the subway entrance across the street or the main entrance located across the street and closest to the main intersection which has escalators. It is easy to get an uber or taxi.

I absolutely loved this apartment. It was a very good size for my family of 4, including 2 teenaged kids. I loved having a separate bedroom for the kids to sleep in. There was a full kitchen and washing machine, which made staying there so convenient. There were several convenience stores nearby as well to pick up basic food items. The location was excellent, in a slightly quieter area but just a few minutes walk from the river, downtown Kyoto, Gion, and Pontocho Alley. It was also just a one minute walk from the Sanjo metro station and 2 minutes from the Sanjo Keihan station of the Keisei railway, which you can take to get to Nara, Fushimi Inari, Osaka, etc. The apartment was very clean as well.

Modern, comfortable and stylish. Everything was super clean. We had a balcony (which we didn't use because of rain) which gave the apartment lots of light and an airy feeling. The art work on the wall is fabulous The black out curtains were super good. We booked the private spa (it has a Finnish sauna) and it was 100% worth it. We did not use the kitchen so can't comment on that.

The apartment was really nice, big and well-equipped with dishwashing and laundry soap. The location was great within walking distance to Gion, Pontocho alley, subway, and convenience store nearby.

We enjoyed our stay at Minn GionSanjo in Kyoto! ♥️ Such a clean place and very cozy! The location is very good, so close to Gion streets (old and new streets). But the apt is in a quite are. There is a great Coffee Shop just outside the hotel where you can find good coffee and Espresso (which is a rare find in Japan), and you can serve good breakfast there. The convinience shops are very close to the apt. The metro/bus stations are within 5-7 minutes walk. The popular street with the Yasaka Pagoda view is 20-25 minutes walk. It takes about 50min by bus to Bamboo Forest and 20min to Fushimi Inari. There are not many placea to eat near by, but you can get to the Teramaki street with many restaurants and street food in 15-17min by walk. We also reserved an hour at the Spa and we really liked it!

Location was excellent - short walk to lots of restaurant options at Pontocho area. Short walk (.3 mile) to beautiful street in Gion district. Easy access to subway to get everywhere in the city. We easily walked (family with children) to Kenninji Temple area. Room is really soundproof! Our kids slept on tatami mats and we had western style beds in separate bedroom. The washing machine and detergent (washer/dryer) was nice to have - we put laundry in at night and woke up to dry clothes! It takes several hours to wash and dry. (I recommend looking up how to use it online if you're not familiar with combo) Overall a great choice for a few days in Kyoto! Great bakery just down the street for breakfast Le Bac a Sable!

Great place to stay for family of 5. Good kitchen area with large table. Really pleased with the location. Handy for subway just a few doors down. Loads of places to eat just across the bridge and easy walk into Gion. Best of all near to the river which has a wide path to run or cycle along.

We are a group of 6, 4 adults, 1 toddler, 1 infant. The kitchen and washing machine is truly a lifesaver for traveling with family. The place is very big compared to the typical Japanese hotels. The children can enjoy and play in the room. The guest service is surprisingly responsive even when I reached out via LINE. The online supports uses english as well which is very convenient. I asked different kinds of request like changing towels, disposing garbage, and even disposing cooking oils.
